FOR STUDENTS BORN IN 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 or 2006
Our Senior students (turning 14-18 in 2020) have a comprehensive list of classes to choose from, whether they're dancing for fun and fitness, interested in exams and competition or looking to gain syllabus-based and/or nationally-recognised Certificate II or III in Dance qualifications.
With 26 classes on our 2020 timetable for this age group including two Certificate courses to round out your dancers' education, you're sure to find something to suit your specific interests, skill level and busy schedule.
Our Senior timetable is constructed to ensure our students still have plenty of time for their schooling and study - making the most of their time in the studio with back-to-back classes available. Classes are offered in styles as diverse as Acrobatics, Jazz, Hip Hop and Street Tap to Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Singing, Drama and traditional styles such as Classical Ballet, Tap and Jazz Technique.
In our Senior age group, some classes do have co-requisites and some ballet classes are categorised according to dancers' skill levels and goals.
Our recreational dancers love learning to dance in a fun environment with selected performance opportunities. Students who take any of our non-exam classes and/or ISTD Tap are categorised as Bronze students.
Students looking for the extra challenge preparing for a ballet or jazz exam can provide are categorised as Silver level students while our Eisteddfod/Competition Team students in this age group fall into the Gold category and must take a minimum of Ballet, Jazz Technique and ISTD Tap to qualify for our Eisteddfod Team.
A reminder that class levels for technique classes (Ballet, Jazz Technique and ISTD Tap) may be based on a student's experience rather than purely age. Class placement is highly individual and there a number of factors that contribute to this process. The age-based guidelines below are provided purely as a starting point and you may find your child's placement is revised once 2020 classes commence.
For students interested in the nationally-recognised Certificates II and III in Dance (CUA20113 and CUA 30113), we offer these courses in partnership with EmpowerDance (RTO43097) and in conjunction regular classes and syllabus work meaning students don't have to take extra time out of school to gain these qualifications.
