We are SO excited to be a proud studio partner of READY SET DANCE and READY SET BALLET!

We are thrilled to be an official location for these truly innovative preschool programs and can’t wait to share them with our students and families! Both programs focus on developing the 3 C’s for young dancers - Confidence, Coordination & Creativity - and have been awarded the Best National Activity for Preschoolers.

READY SET DANCE is a one hour combo class that includes jazz, tap, hip hop, singing, music and a whole lot of FUN!

READY SET BALLET is a 30 minute magical ballet experience filled with friends, feathers and fun.

You might have seen READY SET DANCE on Nick Jr and, more recently, on Channel Ten and now you have the chance to learn all the moves right here at CJSDA!!

What's involved in the classes?

Both READY SET DANCE and READY SET BALLET classes are full of fun activities, song and dance that we're sure your little one will love! Our READY SET DANCE classes include jazz, tap, hip hop, singing and music while READY SET BALLET  has a focus on early ballet technique for boys and girls.

What level are the classes?

In 2021 we're offering two levels of this award-winning program for students turning 3, 4, 5 or 6!

  • Level 1 classes are the perfect introduction to dance for our Tinies students (turning 3 or 4 in 2021). We hold Level 1 classes three times per week.

  • Level 2 classes are for our Mini students turning 5 or 6 in 2021. These classes follow the same fun format but incorporate structured foundations for basic dance technique skills such as kicks and turns.

Are the classes appropriate for boys as well?

Yes! READY SET DANCE is awesome for boys. It has themes like robots, race cars, dinosaurs and pirates to engage them. They always love the hip hop component.

How long are the lessons?
READY SET DANCE is a one hour combo class that includes jazz, tap, hip hop, singing, music and a whole lot of FUN! READY SET BALLET is a 30 minute magical ballet experience filled with friends, feathers and fun. Students who do both classes are in the studio for 90 minutes - the perfect amount of time for you to grab a coffee with friends or get the groceries done in peace!

Is there a registration fee?

Yes, there is a $45 registration fee. This cover insurance, music licensing and students administration costs.

Do we need to purchase uniform and shoes?

Students must wear the READY SET DANCE uniform. However, we need to make sure we are the right fit for you and your child before committing to anything. Comfortable clothes and sneakers are fine for the first couple of lessons. Once your child has settled you can purchase the official READY SET DANCE uniform at reception which we are sure you will love. Second-hand shoes are available through the CJSDA Buy Swap & Sell Facebook group.

Can I do a trial class before signing up?

Definitely! Trial classes are $15 for READY SET DANCE and $10 for READY SET BALLET. To book a trial class, click here. Please don't just show up to a class as we only allow a certain number of trial places per class.

Can I watch my child's class?

In our experience preschoolers are able to concentrate better without the distraction of other noise in the room from parents and other siblings. Our program has been endorsed by leading child care experts who support the independent learning model. As preschoolers participate in classes they have the opportunity to develop additional secure attachments with adults (teachers) and peers. This helps them transition positively into the larger world and helps with school readiness. Having said that, a lot of children are timid at first and need to know that a parent is close by. We have a waiting area upstairs with a viewing window to the studio.

When can we start?

We take enrolments throughout the year! Click here to register.
